Aalani is starting a new job as a Journalist when she is assigned to run a story about a forgotten NYC community art movement. She's paired with Laikin as the visual lead; he is assigned to do photography for the Times. Their first meetings are tense. Lani finds Laikin unprofessional; he thinks she's uptight and disconnected from real people. But their chemistry is undeniable. As they explore the city, interview subjects, and attend underground art events, their walls begin to crack. They find common ground in storytelling, culture, and their shared experience as multiracial creatives navigating identity.

Aiden Cross has always fought - not just in the MMA ring, but against the demons of his past. Betrayal, heartbreak, and a childhood marked by pain have made him shut off from the world... and from love. MMA was never just a sport for him; it was an outlet for his anger, a place where he could feel alive. Every match he wins fuels him, yet deep down, the fury inside only grows. Then, one day, a new neighbor moves in next door. Anvi. Something about her feels different - quiet, strong, and undeniably intriguing. Little does Aiden know, she is about to challenge everything he's ever believed about love. Anvi comes from a strict Indian family and has fought her own battles. Leaving home wasn't easy, and moving to New York was supposed to be her fresh start. But the city she dreamed of also holds heartbreak, tough decisions, and a man who seems impossible to resist. Two hearts, two broken pasts, and one slow-burning connection that neither of them expected. Can Aiden and Anvi find love again when life has already scarred them so deeply? Or will their walls be too high to break?
