Aalani is starting a new job as a Journalist when she is assigned to run a story about a forgotten NYC community art movement. She's paired with Laikin as the visual lead; he is assigned to do photography for the Times. Their first meetings are tense. Lani finds Laikin unprofessional; he thinks she's uptight and disconnected from real people. But their chemistry is undeniable. As they explore the city, interview subjects, and attend underground art events, their walls begin to crack. They find common ground in storytelling, culture, and their shared experience as multiracial creatives navigating identity.
