Rose Sinclair's life takes an unexpected turn when her boss asks her to befriend his troubled nephew, Jess Mariano. Jess is being sent to Stars Hollow by his mother, who can no longer handle his rebellious behavior. Reluctantly, Rose agrees to help. Little does she know what she's getting into.

On her way to work, Rose bumps into a stranger, only to later discover it was Jess himself. This initial encounter sparks mutual dislike, making Rose doubt her ability to befriend him. Jess's reputation in town isn't helping either, as he's known for pulling pranks and causing trouble.

This is just a book I made for myself for fun. This will be book one of many silly little mysteries. This has three pov: Rose, Jess and Luke.
This is book one of a slow burn enemies to friends to lovers series.

Cleo Ashford wasn't exactly Stars Hollow's sweetheart - and she never tried to be. You didn't need to be a mind reader or some psychic tarot-reading town weirdo to figure out why Mrs. Kim practically hissed like a vampire at the sight of her near Lane. Why Babette's muttering turned into full-on commentary the second Cleo's combat boots hit the pavement. Or why Luke Danes, king of grumpy coffee slinging, could suddenly remember a dozen "fire code violations" every time Cleo asked if he was hiring. People didn't like her. Fine. Cool. Cute, even. Let them clutch their pearls while she smoked in the alley behind Doose's and rolled her eyes through yet another town meeting where Taylor tried to ban fun. Cleo wasn't interested in fitting in with the cookie-cutter charm of this postcard town. She wasn't interested in validation, approval, or any of the suffocating politeness the residents used like a weapon. She had a plan - get out. Leave Stars Hollow choking on her exhaust. As soon as her mom stopped pretending she could "fix her" with therapy pamphlets and curfews, Cleo was gone. One-way ticket. New life. No strings. But then he showed up. Luke's nephew. Broody, smug, eyes like he knew things he had no business knowing. A boy who didn't look at her like she was trouble - he looked at her like he wanted to get in trouble with her. And that? That was a problem. A distraction. An anchor. Now, it wasn't just her mother trying to chain her to this town. It was him, too. And Cleo Ashford didn't do chains.

Novella 1: Martina Marino has spent her entire life being the "good one" amongst her famous mafia family. As the youngest daughter of the boss of Chicago, she's learned how to survive by keeping a low profile and doing as she's told. When her father allows her to go overseas to attend university, Martina is thrilled to finally spread her wings. Little does she know that while there, she'll find herself in the most likely of pairs with Irish mafia bad boy, Parker Fallon. Parker is consistently trying to prove himself within his ranks and will do anything it takes to have a successful mission. What starts as two people who can't stand one another quickly turns to friendship...which in turn becomes more. This is a side-story in the Queens of Chicago series. This is a complete addition to the other books and does not change or affect the main plot. You do not have to read the others to enjoy this. Martina is Mirabella Donnelly's younger sister and Parker is Caitlin Donnelly's older brother. You'll see plenty of familiar faces if you've read the original series! This is a completely fictional, mafia-light romance, dual-POV, and first spin-off book in The Queens of Chicago novellas, a series of interconnected stories about various prominent female characters in the fictional crime family. TW: This story does contain explicit sexual content, loss, grief, death/murder, drug/alcohol use, violence, and heavy language. Please note this story is for mature audiences only! Take care of yourselves first and foremost.
