Hiccup had just lost his only friend he had ever truly made, the friend who had made a lasting impact on him. Hiccup has to learn how to deal with the loss of his closest, and most loved one in the span of three weeks between her funeral and his first visit to her grave.
Now, he had to decide whether to make that impact one that could change his life for the better, or to plunge into the misery of unwillingness to let go.

If he so tried to convince them. No one would listen to him. Not even his own father. But he wasn't running away with just Toothless but with Astrid as well. After their romantic flied which also change her view on dragons, and their discovery of the red death, Hiccup was still planning to run away even though he have just finally friended an actual human, he decided to tell her so he don't have to let her worry about him leaving without a word in the next day. When he finish telling her his plan and surprisingly to hiccup and even Toothless she beg to come with and she also told him her reason. Turns out Astrid Hofferson was abused and pressured by her own family. She have enough of it, Hiccup didn't really have yes as his first nor second choice but she beg him until he gave up and let her tag along.
