🥀 --- Prologue Eight years ago The rain was loud that night-angry, wild, drumming against the shattered windows like fists desperate to get in. But inside the house, something even louder had already passed. A scream. A gunshot. And then... silence. Evelyn curled herself tighter beneath the grand piano, her knees pressed to her chest, her trembling fingers clinging to the cracked porcelain rabbit Mama had given her on her fifth birthday. Its ear was broken now. Just like everything else. She didn't cry. She had learned not to. The living room reeked of smoke and metal. Shadows flickered across the walls as flames licked at the edges of her once-bright world. Blood-thick and fresh-trickled down one of the ivory keys above her. Drip. Drip. Drip. A cruel lullaby. Footsteps echoed. Slow. Heavy. Deliberate. A figure stopped in front of the piano, crouching low. His eyes met hers through the darkness-cold, unreadable, and glowing like coals. His black glove reached forward, not to hurt, but to hush. "You saw nothing," he said, voice like gravel and ash. She nodded, not trusting her voice. Not trusting herself. The man lingered a moment longer, then rose and disappeared into the fire. Evelyn didn't move. Not until the rabbit slipped from her fingers. And even then, she remembered everything. ---

Sixteen-year-old Evelyn doesn't belong here. Sent away to Blackwood Academy, a school designed to "fix" troubled minds, she's forced to take pills, follow strict rules, and remain under constant supervision. But she doesn't need fixing-at least, not in the way they think. The people here aren't trying to help her. They're trying to control her. The moment she swallows her first pill and follows the eerie blue line to her dorm, reality distorts. Hallways shift. Shadows whisper. Her mind is slipping, but she refuses to give in. The next morning, when a new nurse tries to force another dose down her throat, she does the only thing that feels right-she makes him swallow the pills instead. And when he stops breathing, she realizes something terrifying... Killing feels right. Now, one body isn't enough. As the academy tightens its grip, so does her hunger for revenge. If they wanted her to be a monster, they just gave her the perfect excuse to become one. But is she truly insane? Or is there something much darker lurking beneath the surface of Blackwood Academy? The blue line leads to safety. But for Evelyn, it leads to blood.
