The journal had been sitting in a drawer since Darry gave it to him-some quiet hope that writing might help. Ponyboy never thought it would. But the day after Soda and Roselynn told them Rose was pregnant, everything cracked open.

The silence, the pressure, the feeling of being invisible-it got too heavy. So he picked up the pen.

What started as a way to let things out turned into something bigger: a story about heartbreak, growing up too fast, and trying to hold on to who you are when everything else is falling apart.

I wrote this thinking it would just be some stupidly cheesy, over exaggerated gay comedy of Johnnyboy, and I did just that. I felt his hand around my throat. He looked into my eyes as I looked into his. "I hate you" I said softly feeling his hand run down my chest. "I despise you" he left walking away leaving me with want and hate.
