Dear Life: A Single Mother's Memoir (Fiction)

It's not easy being a parent, especially when you're faced with doing it alone. At the age of thirty, Lotus has moved back home with her nine-year-old son and two chihuahuas, prepared to start all over again. Once you hit rock bottom enough times you have nowhere else to go but up. At least, that's the plan as she navigates through her struggles and mental health with a smile molded to her face. Once again she's single, jobless and living in the basement at her mom's new house, which is in a town far enough away from her old life.

She spent her life running from the darkness that constantly consumed her thoughts, until she runs (literally) into him. A man whose presence felt darker and more dominating than any of her own demons. She now owes him for a ruined suit worth more than she has saved up, which leads her to two options: working as his personal assistant or becoming a nanny to his eight-year-old daughter, Lilly.
