Mature
Wolfwood has long since come to terms with the fact that there is no god. There is simply no other explanation for the atrocities he is subjected to day in and day out. The Bible passages the preacher used to share at the orphanage may as well have been fairytales for all the relevance they've had to his short and miserable life. That is until the good begins to reveal itself to him. And once he begins seeing it, he can't look away.

Maybe there's more to this life than he thought.

This was officially the most uncomfortable day of Percy's life. ----- "Percy, I don't know what happened to you when you were young, but denying that it ever happened isn't the answer." It'd worked pretty well for him so far. "Who said anything about denying it?" he asked. The look Apollo gave him felt almost parental. He pointed in the direction of the throne room. "How many of them know about any of this?" he asked. The demigod shifted uncomfortably. "None." "Exactly." "Really?" Will asked. "Not even Annabeth?" Percy shrugged. "Look, those bruises don't come from nowhere," Apollo said. "Whatever happened to you had to have been serious." "It was. It was messed up," Will interrupted, laughing darkly. Percy shot him a glare. They were supposed to be playing this down, not making it worse. ------ "What," Percy scoffed, "and I'm just supposed to trust you?" ++You don't have a choice. A magic talking book with all your secrets written out like a YA novel appears and starts ordering you around, and you're not going to listen to it?++ To that, he didn't have an answer. ++Kid, I am your god++ Percy deadpanned. "You're a book," he corrected. Annabeth gave him a look. "Don't patronize them," she whispered. ------ I took the reading the books trope and gave it a little fine wine with its dinner. Time to grow up, kid. Streching of canon. Warning: Crass language used, discussion of child abuse physical & sexual, mentions of drug use, mentions of underage drug use. Specific warnings at the beginning of each chapter Cover art is not mine. Neither is the Percy Jackson series. Elements (including Hell, Po, and Troy) are the work of goldenryo on ff.net, I have their permission to use them.

Thyme didn't know what real pain was, not really, not until he became the head of his family. The young man thought that after everything he had gone through in his reckless teen years, nothing could hurt him anymore. He got beat up to an inch of his life, he got deceived and manipulated by his own mother, he got heartbroken more than once by the love of his life, he got stabbed and lost his memories. That would be enough to harden a man .... Right? Yeah .... Right. He hadn't known real pain until Gorya's college graduation week and that cruel man's return into his life. It proved him wrong in a million one different ways. He had known for a long time he would do the impossible to protect his family, even bring back the worst parts of himself he worked so hard to suppress. He would be the Thyme Gorya hated and feared. He would be Thyme who his sister tried to course correct. That was all but a small price to pay to protect them. They said the devil doesn't bargain.. Good.
