"Love has always rejected me. Love has always played games on me. Now murder is a game. And there is no way to turn back." Damon seems like the perfect guy, but quiet as well. But he has a secret. He is known for killing helpless teenagers who are forced to play his game, sometimes stealing their hearts. From this, he gains the title the Heart Thief. Behind every charming smirk and chemistry class joke is a mind calculating its next move. He's already played one game-one that ended in blood, silence, and grief. But the boy who collects hearts has his stolen by a girl named Talia. As soon as he saw her, he instantly fell for her. Obsession drives him, especially when it comes to Talia, the one person he believes truly belongs to him. To Damon, love isn't given-it's taken. And he's not done collecting. Talia has spent her entire life wanting to be one thing... a detective. Wanting to solve every possible mystery there is, willing to sacrifice everything, she is even willing to make enemies. So when teenagers are being kidnapped and forced to watch each other die in a game, she wants to discover who the murderer is. But when she is selected by the infamous Heart Thief to be the seeker in a game of Hide and Seek, she feels the stress of finding her friend, and the 4 other teens hidden in the house. Mouse, a timid young woman who is on the verge of understanding herself, is thrown into a world of hurt, fear and danger. She must learn to depend on the help of strangers all the while learning to depend on herself. Will she conquer her trauma and build a better life? Or will she let it consume her and ultimately let it destroy her and others along with it? "Would you like to come in?" I choked. I didn't want to seem rude but at the same time, there was a limit to how nice I would go for this stranger. He shrugged his shoulders and took a step back from the house. "I better not." He yawned and rubbed his face to rid himself of sleep. "Once I come in you wont be able to get me out." He laughed. My hand drew to my mouth like a pulley system. I looked down at my shoes and cleared my throat. "Thank you for walking me home." "It's no problem, but like I said, the debt is not repaid." Apollo turned around and began to walk away. "See you later kid." I shuddered at the thought. "Are you going to keep following me?" Apollo laughed. "Wouldn't you like to know." "I will get the authorities involved." He laughed and threw his arm over his head, waving goodbye. "That's what they all say!"
