Humanity. The Apex Species living in the planet called... Earth, located in the Sol System
That was. Until *They* came
The Raptures. An unknown alien civilization appeared out of nowhere one day, they spawned from the darkest corners of the Earth, it is still unknown how they even appeared.
But Humanity had more pressing problems
The two fought a bloody war, lasting a unknown amount of time, it was informally called "The World War" during the "Second Dark Age"
Ultimately. Humanity lost, Bad. Due to the Raptures endless numbers and invulnerability to most weapons.
Humans, more than 90% of their population dying, what's left of humanity was driven underground
Forced to adapt and survive
But even in this harsh times, Humanity remains corrupt, evil, and uncaring to each other
Though... The ones on the surface are different. Even after the War. Humans still lived in the surface, in small pockets, scavenging scraps of technology from the Second Dark Ages. Barely getting by
But once these two discover each other. And hopefully... Hopefully unite
"War does not care who is right. Only what is left"
And what is left... Shall rise once more

Actually not literally, you know, because otherwise that would be really gross. Who is V.K. McAllister? We're a husband/wife duo (Andrew and Sasha McAllister) with a unique approach to writing. We work simultaneously and in secret before combining what we come up with, resulting in dramatic and unexpected twists that surprise even us! Crazy? Yes, yes it is, but it's surprisingly fun and effective. :) We pretty much live for the Inevitable Ascension series and did just about everything ourselves-the writing, the editing, the publishing, the art (well, Andrew did the art, but Sasha provided invaluable consulting when it came to eyebrows), the audio book, the trailer-everything. We're basically a one-man band, except with two people... and no music... so perhaps not the best metaphor, but we're confident you get what we mean. Godslayers is about correcting a mistake. A mistake made by three kid geniuses who inherited a Corporate Technology Empire. By the second year, only three factions remained, political amalgams of financial, military and technological interests. High casualty and destructive rates refined combat, and Dark Tech's emerging technologies- unbridled by energy restrictions- were corrupted into a new version of warfare. The BADB Frames took over the battlefield. Exoskeletal marvels- walking tanks. These suits made the soldiers of the future nearly invincible, while giving them destructive abilities of such raw power and precision that conflict was forever altered. The pilots of these suits were almost all pulled from a previously untapped civilian resource: gamers. Suddenly, age was not a restriction. What's left of Dark Tech exists in three Neutral Zones spread throughout the globe. Three "war free" zones that house civilians who wish to remain outside the war. But a shadow beneath what's left of the world's political system upsets this balance and a secret group known only as The Keepers push the factions past their fear of Dark Tech and into the zones of neutrality.
