Danielle Draken has suffered more than a person should. After being marked, surviving with the demons in her head, and having feelings she definitely shouldn't, she's finally headed to Basgiath, along with Xaden and Garrick. The three of them-as the eldest Tyrrish marked children-must prove themselves at the infamous War College, even though most of the people there are only trying to sabotage their paths.

Danielle and Xaden both have taken the responsibility of the marked ones, leading to the two of them having to stone their place in Navarre. Danielle's had a crush on him for more than a decade, but she knows he doesn't see her in that way, or does she?

But she has a deep secret-the darkest among many-she's not who she says she is. She has more to hide than the entire ocean, and she's surprisingly good at that because, like her father always said, she always gets what she wants. There's parts of her that even she's not aware of, and as she goes through her journey in Navarre, she finds out more and more about herself.
