When the river swells in Brookwood, it doesn't just rise. It waits. Each year, as the thawed snow rushes down from the highlands, the current turns fierce beneath the bridge. And like clockwork, a girl vanishes. Always between sixteen and twenty-five. Always around the time, the river starts to roar. I'.ve read the old reports, pored over the yellowing case files. Different names, different faces, same ending: silence. Locals whisper about the river being cursed. Some say the town was built on old blood. Most just pretend it's coincidence. They come to the festival, light candles, drink too much wine-and then go home. Except for the girls. Sometimes, a car skids on the slick, narrow bridge. Sometimes, it overturns. They say it's the weather, bad luck, reckless driving. But no one ever sees it happen. And sometimes, the girls are just walking nearby-headed home, to meet a friend, to clear their heads-and they're never seen again I didn't come to Drauheim for the legends. I came because my sister vanished here. One of them. One of the lost. Now I wear a badge, and I ask the questions no one else dares. Why is it always girls? Why this river? Why when the river swells? This town keeps its secrets tangled in the water, but I'm going to pull every last one to the surface

COMPLETE! "It can't be real! There's no 500-year-old guy in a jester hat lurking just out of sight, waiting to abduct willing teenagers! We would have heard of him before now, right? #WhoIsLerosy" There was once an innocent time in our lives when we sang nursery rhymes in a circle, holding hands with friends, never realizing that one of those songs was a warning... On an anonymous forum site, one girl asks the question, "Who is Lerosy?" The discussion thread quickly veers off track when someone claiming to be Lerosy tells another girl with the same question that he's waiting outside her window. Amid the clamor of outrageous comments and trolls, a mystery begins to unravel until the group learns that the original poster has actually gone missing. Blending truth and mythology, impossible conspiracies abound and chilling confessions arise, as some of the forum users not only admit to knowing about Lerosy, but what he may have done to the girl. Powerless to escape from what they're reading, this idiotic mob of screen names, once bent on childish humor and verbal chaos, becomes involuntary witnesses to the unnerving details of a father's hunt for his daughter's fabled captor. Fitting into the 'found footage' realm of supernatural horror and suspense, and stylistically similar to TAP by Wattpad, #WhoIsLerosy turns forum sites, an ordinary venue from the digital age where many of us feel safe to visit on a daily basis, into the setting for a narrative thread that will make you afraid to use your phone in the dark. =================== :: #95 in Horror (Highest) :: Spoilers, overt negativity/hostility, and self-promotion will be deleted. :: MCliffordAuthor on Twitter/Instagram/Snapchat/Facebook :: Copyright 2015 by M.
