Sanemi Shinazugawa and his younger brother, Genya Shinazugawa, lived in the Wind Kingdom with a rude father, who only wanted power and fame.

Elsewhere, Giyu Tomioka and his older sister, Tsutako Tomioka, lived in the Water Kingdom with a kind and caring father who only wanted to be a good leader.

A war had been happening between these kingdoms for decades, and they wanted to end it once and for all. The two kings decided to make their children marry each other to make well-deserved peace once and for all.
