The past holds memories. Be they happy, sad, or forgotten. For Kokichi, it holds more than memories. It holds his biggest secret. A decade filled with pain that he can never forget.
The present is peaceful, but that illusion is soon shattered for the students when Kokichi vanishes. Despite the animosity, they put their lives on the line to save him.
The future is uncertain. High walls keep him safe, but they also trap him. To gain the trust of other, Kokichi needs to figure out how to tear them down.

(First book of the trilogy) Kokichi, a kind, extroverted boy, moved out to a new city and dropped out in a new school: Spring Field Academy, he quickly made friends here and became one of the popular students, but soon after a few weeks, he notices that one of his classmates is left out from everybody else. Kokichi never saw that boy speak to anyone, neither did he hear him talk in the first place, so of course he decided to try and befriend this lonely boy.
