Its wings stuttered mid-beat, the left dragging like a broken oar. The beast tilted, losing altitude fast. It let out another roar-this one raw, ragged. Not the cry of a predator. The wail of the wounded. The mighty dragon was falling. "Liora, hello? Reality check-extinct monster just clawed its way out of myth, and I would very much like to live through the next five minutes," Felix snapped, nudging her shoulder. "Let's go!" "No," she said, voice low. Her usual razor-sharp sass dulled to something softer. "It's hurt." Felix blinked. "Oh, we're doing the noble thing now? Great. Perfect timing." "We should help it," she added, eyes never leaving the dragon. "If it's the last one left-" "Exactly! The last one left. And if it dies, the extinction rate stays consistent." Liora finally turned to face him, brows arched. "Wow, Felix. That was almost a complete sentence without whining. Growth." "This is not the time," he hissed, eyes wild. "You don't wanna be dragon chow, do you?!" "No," she said simply. "Then let's go!" She tilted her head. "Why? So you can write a strongly worded letter about how I almost saved something incredible but tragically listened to you instead?" Before Felix could retort, the dragon screamed again-this time closer, harsher. It was crashing. Liora's eyes caught the dying light-and for a second, they gleamed gold. "Oh no," Felix muttered. "That's the look. That's the 'I'm about to do something stupid' look." She didn't answer. She ran. Past the treeline. Toward the monster. Toward the legend. Toward the last dragon.

It was just a normal day for Dawn like every other day she went to school and came home. This time it's different she won't be going home, instead she will end up in a cave with a Dragon. The Dragon gives her two choices to be executed in front of the whole tribe or to stay. She wants to leave but she knows the consequences of escaping but instead of escaping she stays. -------------------------- No one in the small town of Diamond knew what happened, they thought she ran away or worse they thought she died some tragic death, now one of them knows what happened but who?. -------------------------- "We need to find her and fast!". "But, Mayra a dragon took her it couldn't have gotten that far right?". A voice asked her, cowering In the darkness of her stone house. "Of course It will go far its a Dragon!, But at least we know which direction it went, Right?". Mayra asked the voice. "Y-Yes it went Northwest!, But how will we find her?". The voice asked again. "We ask it or them what happened". Mayra said, her gem necklace rested firmly on her neck. "But how do we do that?". The voice questioned while still in the darkness of her house. "Well I found something in my daughters room that might help me". She held up a leather book with small gems like ruby, sapphire and emerald imbedded into it. The title read: Dawns guide to speaking Dragon. Mayra opened the book and a bunch of symbols and markings were written on the pages and on the first page was a translator of Dragon into English.
