The story of beyond the line is one revolving around the theme of freedom. Freedom from societal expectations, and in the case of the story, freedom from the 2nd dimension. The sotry focuses on a set of characters, but the protagonist is Hughie, a girl living in a modern world, with technology and innovation. She is in highschool and she has always had a feeling of being caged, everyone in the town has had the feeling before. The truth is that they all are trapped in a small glode. She eventually has a dream where she essentially is convinved that it isnt just her mind playing tricks on her, but that her world is in a lesser dimension than humans and she must escape. She tries convincing her friends and eventually they find a way to see a hole in the sky, but the hole is what they have believed to be the moon. To their horror, it is actually a person's pupil, a person in the third dimension who is looking through a globe. They eventually escape and meet other people who lived in the 2nd dimenstion but eventually escaped.

Once in the facility, Evita is tagged as a test subject and loses all say over what happens to her body. She has to escape. By the time she comes up with a plan there is only one problem. After finding some disturbing news involving his wife, a man wakes up in a hotel room that has everything he has ever wanted. Not knowing how he got there or where exactly it is, he begins to look for answers only to forget what he was looking for. Not wanting to leave he decides it might be the right thing to do but cant find a way out. With holes in his memory and a hole in his wall, maybe it is there where he can escape and have full recollection of what it is all about...if the hotel lets him. NOTE: This story jumps between three different characters in a disorienting way, which I did intentionally (for a reason that I can't say without revealing spoilers). However, in hindsight, I realize that this might also be off-putting to some readers. If you are not dissuaded, you will begin to see a pattern to the transitions (and the reason for them), and I promise you that, by the end, everything will come together and make sense.
