**Disclaimer: NO AI was used in writing this story. The prose was written entirely by me.** Two lives. Two fates. One fractured world. Galen Daxton never asked to be a hero. He was torn from Earth and thrust into another world, given the role of Champion of an empire he knows nothing about. His only hope of returning home and seeing his family again lies in working with very ones who ripped him from all that he'd known and loved. Though he is called Champion, he finds titles mean little when secrets are being kept from him. As he comes to learn more of this new world, he begins to question if he's on the right side. But even if he isn't, dare he go against them? Even if that meant never being able to return home? Aria Tufani has never known freedom. Born into slavery, her people have spent generations suffering under oppression. Her only source of comfort and strength is her mother, Anila, who helps her cling to hope where none should exist. But when a new Champion is summoned to Axis Mundi, they sense the stirrings of change, forcing them to make a desperate gamble. Though she yearns for it, Aria will soon realize that freedom comes at a heavy price. One bound by duty they never asked for. One bound by chains unwillingly placed upon them. Their paths were never meant to cross. But when war looms on the horizon, their choices could unify a broken world... or bring it to ruin. Some fight for power. Some fight for freedom. And some must choose which is worth dying for.

She spent her entire life in servitude, raised to believe she was just ordinary - an insignificant speck in a world she's always been sheltered from. But one fated encounter is about to change her mundane existence forever, and she's all too willing to answer the call of her destiny. --------------------------------------------- Abandoned as an infant, Sahera has spent all her days at the beck and call of Mother Lucine, the matron of the convent she was raised in. Suffering exclusion and abuse from both her maternal figure and her sisters, she copes with the belief that this is the debt she owes. Keeping her head down makes her day to day more bearable, and as long as she has food and shelter, she shouldn't want for more. Still, she can't help but feel she doesn't belong in the slightest. It isn't until she meets the mysterious yet generous Roman that she begins to question if there's more to this miserable existence of hers. The last thing she expects is to be completely uprooted from her world and thrust into the treacherous yet beautiful reality he lives in. The mission he's on, accompanied by his four beautiful and intimidating guardians, seems like something beyond her wildest dreams. It certainly feels like fantasy when he reveals the role she supposedly plays in his life. Sahera eagerly rises to the challenge, but with ferocious foes she's never seen the likes of at every turn, crushing secrets ready to unfold, and her enigmatic past waiting to be revealed just on the horizon, will she be able to withstand all the trials and tribulations?
