Brooklyn Kaberlon has a dark past. Full of revenge and evil. Now, she's been in prison for seven years. Her daughter barely knows her or wants to, and she's impeccably alone. But, after an 'unexpected' resignation of her former guard, she receives a new one. Duncan, her new personal guard, is nothing like the guards Brooklyn has had before. He's motivated and surprisingly nice to talk to. He treats Brooklyn with respect and doesn't act like she's anything other than human. Which comes as a shock to Brooklyn. After a few months they become unexpected friends. But will her position in the prison block that bond? Will her own insecurities get in the way of something good she could have with him?
