The wind howled through the broken walls of Chung Kingdom, carrying the scent of ash and blood. Fires still smoldered in the distance, casting an eerie glow over the shattered remains of what once stood proud and unyielding. Soldiers marched through the streets, their armor stained with the dust of battle, dragging survivors from the ruins. Among them, shackled and stripped of her silks, was Chung Subin.

Her wrists were bound with rough rope, the fibers biting into her flesh with every stumble. She kept her gaze fixed on the ground, unwilling to meet the eyes of the conquerors who sneered and spat as she passed. Her father's banners lay trampled in the mud, crimson and gold smeared with dirt and footprints. The once-mighty emblem of her family now lay forgotten, just as her kingdom had been.

"Move faster," a guard snarled, shoving her forward. Subin staggered, knees hitting the ground. Pain shot through her legs, but she did not cry out. Tears were a luxury she had abandoned long ago.

They led her to the towering walls of Lee Kingdom's castle-its spires piercing the clouds like daggers. The gates groaned open, revealing the sprawling stone fortress that would become her prison. Word of her capture had spread quickly. Servants whispered, nobles smirked behind raised fans, and the guards called her traitor as if it were her name.

But it was not their eyes that cut the deepest. It was hers.

Lee Hyeri stood atop the grand staircase, her gaze sharp and unyielding. Draped in silks of midnight blue, she was every bit the image of ruthless royalty. Her lips curled into a smile that did not reach her eyes as Subin was dragged before her, forced to her knees at Hyeri's feet.

"So, this is the last princess of Chung," Hyeri mused, circling her like a predator savoring its catch. "Not much left of your father's pride now, is there?"

Subin clenched her fists, the rope burning deeper into her skin. She would not give Hyeri the satisfaction of her tears. Not now. Not ever.

The night Seoul bled, the war should have ended. For years, the Chung and Lee families had been locked in a brutal feud-rival syndicates clawing for control over the city's underworld. Deals were burned, alliances shattered, and bodies piled up in the alleys like discarded playing cards. Neither side dared to back down, each blow met with another, a cycle of violence passed down through generations. But war had a price. When the youngest heir of the Lee family was gunned down in a drive-by-an act neither side could take responsibility for-something shifted. Retaliation would mean total annihilation, a war that neither family could afford. The city was changing. The world was watching. And so, on a quiet evening in the heart of Gangnam, the two families gathered behind closed doors. Guns were holstered, knives set aside, and in their place, a contract was signed. A deal that would bind bloodlines together instead of spilling them apart. An agreement forged not in trust, but in necessity. A marriage. To the outside world, it would be the union of two elite families-an extravagant affair for the socialites and tabloids to feast on. But beneath the glitz and glamour, it was nothing more than a business transaction, a carefully constructed lie designed to keep the peace. The heirs had no choice. Chung Subin, the quiet storm, with eyes too sharp and a heart too cold. Lee Hyeri, the devil in silk, with a smile that hid a thousand knives. They would play their roles. They would pretend. But some wars don't end with treaties. They smolder, waiting for the right moment to reignite. And when love and hate exist in the same breath, the battlefield only grows deadlier. -

You kept walking without looking back. Your shoulders were slightly shaking because you tried to hold your tears. Yoongi followed you quietly. You unconsciously walked too far from the gathering room. It wasn't the resort area anymore. His best guess was that you didn't even realize where you went. "Shut." You stumbled by your own feet. You were prepared to feel the ground and realized it wasn't coming. A pair of strong hands steadying you. "Yo.. yoongi?" You fluttered. You wiped your tears, "Why are you here?" "That will be my question." "He likes someone else.." You turned around and awkwardly hugged him. Yoongi hesitantly patted your back, you snorted on his shirt. "Why do things like this always happen to me?" You cried. "Because you are stupid." He answered. "I think he was in love with me." The boy treated you nicely. He was always around, who knows that he wants someone else. "That explains the stupid part.." You pouted and wiped your messy tears with his shirt, "Oh, God.." he sighed. "I'm done with all this relationship shit." Yoongi frowned to see the smeared mascara on your face. You looked awful. "Yeah, I'm sure after this you won't get any." You could see his bitter expression. "I'm crying.. why are you so mean ..." "Ck, bothersome." He mumbled as he wiped the mascara stain with his thumbs, he just made it even worse, "Stop crying already." Out of many people, you met him. He wasn't the first person for comfort.. but he was here..

Seulgi stood at the entrance of Chaewa Girl High School, her heart pounding with excitement. A new school, a fresh start, and endless possibilities awaited her. She took a deep breath, inhaling the crisp morning air, and stepped through the towering gates, ready to embrace whatever came her way. The school grounds buzzed with life-students chatting in groups, laughter echoing through the corridors, and the faint scent of freshly bloomed cherry blossoms drifting in the wind. Everything seemed perfect, a dream she had envisioned countless times. But dreams, as she would soon realize, had a way of twisting into something unexpected. It started with Jaeyi. The moment Seulgi locked eyes with her, the air around them shifted. Jaeyi, the golden girl of Chaewa Girl High School, exuded an effortless charm that made heads turn. She was admired, envied, and untouchable-a figure that lived in whispers and stolen glances. And yet, in the sea of people, she noticed Seulgi. A single encounter was enough to spark interest, but fate had a cruel sense of humor. Their paths intertwined again and again, no matter how much Seulgi tried to avoid her. With every meeting, Jaeyi's enigmatic presence unraveled something darker beneath the surface of Chaewa Girl High School. The school wasn't as pristine as it appeared. There were secrets buried deep within its walls, and Jaeyi seemed to be at the center of them all. Whispers followed Seulgi now-curious, wary, and some laced with silent warnings. She could feel the weight of unseen eyes watching, studying, waiting. The school's system was flawed, corrupted in ways she couldn't yet comprehend. And Jaeyi... she wasn't just another student. There was something about her, something veiled in mystery, pulling Seulgi in despite the dangers that lurked in the shadows.

If someone had told Seulgi three months ago that she'd end up sharing a house with her mother's new fiancé and his daughter, she would've laughed. Or screamed. Or both. Now? Well-she's still screaming. But more internally. Mostly. "I swear to God, if you touch my skincare again, Jaeyi-" "Relax! I was just borrowing your toner. And serum. And... maybe the snail essence. Your pores look rich, I'm trying to invest." Seulgi clenched her jaw, gripping the bathroom doorframe like it personally betrayed her. "Your investment plan is going to end in hospital bills." Living under the same roof as Jaeyi was like signing up for emotional whiplash. One moment she was laughing at Jaeyi doing a ridiculous dance in the kitchen with a burnt pancake on her head; the next, she was staring too long when Jaeyi came home in a sundress that shouldn't be legal. It wasn't fair. It wasn't fair. Because Jaeyi wasn't just annoying. Or pretty. Or funny in a way that made Seulgi want to punch a pillow. Jaeyi was her. The kind of chaos Seulgi never asked for but somehow couldn't stop orbiting around. "You're staring again," Jaeyi teased one evening, perched on the kitchen counter, eating grapes like a Greek goddess with no regard for personal space. "No, I'm regretting my life choices," Seulgi deadpanned, turning away, ears turning traitorously red. Jaeyi tilted her head. "Sure you are. Just like how you 'regretted' sitting next to me during movie night. Or how you 'regretted' holding my hand during that thunderstorm." "That was for safety," Seulgi snapped, grabbing a water bottle just to have something to hold that wasn't Jaeyi's smug face. "Oh? So if another thunderstorm happens, you'll hold someone else's hand?" Silence.
