Against All Odds: An Aphmau Fanfiction

The Server: a place where there are very little consequences to your actions, a place where you can make your wildest dreams come true, a place where you never have to grow old, a rift in time and space. No one knows where it came from or how it works exactly but the inhabitants who live there sure seem to enjoy the area and all it has to offer.

There was nothing unusual about Ein's life. Wake up, get breakfast, polish his gold, prank and play games with his friends, go to bed, repeat. However, things start to shift as these weird dreams start to surface in his head: pure white snow cascading down to the ground as if Irene herself was intent on making the world a winter wonderland with a with a subtle air of sinister, tall pine trees as far as the eye could see that reach to the sky pleading to escape whatever was happening on the ground below, a wooden house that was rather big and much larger and grander than anything he's ever built.

Then he began to see people. People he'd known. The friends he loved. Always so close but so far out of reach. Repeating phrases he'd never heard them say and looking almost unfamiliar so why did it feel so wrong when in one of the dreams, he heard a scream. A horrid wail. He had a hunch of whose voice it belonged to, but had woken up before he could ponder why she was standing on the edge of a cliff, facing the clouded sky. In the outfit that she had used while playing a certain game together that felt like an eternity ago...
