(Yikes.. okay) This story is about a girl, who lives in New York City, who thinks that life should be more like her books. When she was 7 or 10 (can't remember) her mother gave her a pendant that she then said would protect her if ever she needed it. Her mother was then diagnosed with schizophrenia because she made claims of there being another world outside this one. Anyway, one day the girl, Valerie, finds herself in a pickle that she can't get out of. The pendant starts to glow and the girl blacks out. When she wakes up she is surrounded by trees, none of which she has ever seen before. She meets a red-haired girl, Everleigh, who tells her that she is in Ospeatho. Any who, she goes through a series of challenges and almost dies, meets her father (the king...maybe), almost dies, falls in love with a knight named River, almost dies, gets ambushed by elves, almost dies, starts a war, (you guessed it) almost dies again, and disappears back to New York City.

Inure: (v.) To accustom to accept something undesirable, evil, or painful. An other worldly girl is reincarnated as Queen Estella de Royalis, the villainess of a novel that is killed by her own husband. Having no other choice, she strives to save herself from that fate. However, the novel she read is not the reality she believed. ______ I tried on another, a red one this time. I twirl in its large skirt. "This one matches your eyes," I say as I spin. "This one too." I stop, putting my hands on my hips. "Are you going to order all of them?" "If I want to, yes, I will." He doesn't budge. I sigh, sitting next to him. "You know that you don't have to do this. I can go buy my own dresses." "I know, but I want to see you wear dresses that I chose. Besides, is it so wrong to want to spend time with you?" ______ Note: This is entirely my work. I want to see if I'm able to write something without a plot set up for me. I hope you like it!
