Sins of the Abyss
JC was supposed to have an ordinary life. A young man preparing for a chance at a scholarship, JC's world is shattered when he returns home to discover that his mother and younger brother, Pierce, have been brutally murdered. Before he can understand what happened, JC is pulled through a mysterious portal and cast into Hell. But Hell is not what he expected. Surrounded by sinners, demons, imps, angels, and forces far beyond human understanding, JC begins hunting for the ones responsible for destroying his family. His search for revenge soon draws the attention of both Heaven and Hell-and exposes something impossible within him. Something divine. As JC's strange powers awaken, he discovers that his existence may be connected to a mystery far older than he ever imagined. His blood can change. His body can evolve. He can survive wounds that should be fatal. And the more he learns, the more questions appear. Why has Heaven been watching him? Why does God seem to know who he is? What happened to his brother? And why does Hell seem to know more about JC than he knows about himself? Along the way, JC finds unexpected allies-including Octavia, Bender, Crimson, and a young hellhound named Cerberus. But every friendship pulls him further away from the revenge that brought him to Hell, forcing him to confront a question he never expected to ask: If he has the power to destroy the people who took everything from him, what will stop him from becoming the very monster he hates? JC came to Hell seeking revenge. What he finds there may change the fate of Heaven, Hell, and himself.
