To help him, he created a powerful tool to help protect himself and others and control the resentment called, Yin Hu Fu (Stygian Tiger Amulet). He also crafted a black bamboo Dizi to help him out, he named Chenqing. He one day meets the second young master of the Gusu Lan Sect, Lan Zhan, and he was drawn by his pure spiritual (Yang) energy.
