How do you survive in a city made to kill you? Lex asks himself this question everyday as a stealth trans man attending The Elite Militia Institute.
The military academy is infamous for its ruthlessness, allowing students to challenge each other to the death over any disagreement. Lex has to do everything he can to maintain his secret, or else he may find himself The Institutes next victim. But what happens when he's forced to harbour an even greater, riskier secret? That not only puts his own life at stake, but the lives of everyone he loves?
Follow Lex in his quest, to not only free every trans person in the realm of Xanthia, but to also put an end to the great evil that's been lurking in the depths of The City of Valor. Will he be able to protect his family, friends, and love of his life? What are the lengths Lex will go to in order to maintain all of his secrets? All questions will be answered as Lex reveals his story to us through Saph, the boy who will irreversibly change Lex's life forever.

A haunted mansion with a cruel secret. A timeline that seems to have shifted. A stoner space wizard who may not make it out alive. In the spectral halls of Carrington House-looming at the edge of a fog-choked Victorian moor-Professor Steph Thorncroft, a sharp-minded trans woman with a spine of steel, investigates a series of supernatural disturbances. But the deeper she digs, the clearer it becomes: something far more sinister than ghosts is at work. The house's master, Lord Carrington, is not just a sexist aristocrat-he's the leader of a secretive cult obsessed with fulfilling a dark prophecy tied to an ancient god known as Xalithar the Merciful. Behind the estate's locked doors and beneath its creaking floorboards, horrors are waiting to be unleashed. Across the stars and centuries away, StonerSteve, a soft-spoken, asexual space wizard, is trapped in a timeline that won't stop rewriting itself. Something (or someone) has altered its ending, and every moment could be his last. With only his sarcastic slug navigator Gary and a half-broken space van called the Quantum Drifter, Steve races to uncover the timeline's hidden truth before it collapses completely. From opposite ends of time, Steph and Steve unravel a shared mystery that ties their fates together. Along the way, they face not only cosmic forces and crumbling realities, but the personal horrors that come with being queer in a world that doesn't always want you to exist-especially in Steph's era, where simply living as herself is an act of rebellion. Blending gothic horror, science fiction, and dark comedy, The Thing at the End of Time is a love letter to trans resilience, queer friendship, and the weirdos who fight for a better timeline-even when the universe is falling apart. If Doctor Who took a detour through The Haunting of Hill House and stopped to hotbox with Night Vale, it might look something like this.

Shepherd had run all his life. Constant, unabating movement that consumed him. It was relentless, be it the demons within his own mind or external pursuers out of his control, there was always another beast snapping at his heel, urging him forward in the eternal chase. But that was behind him. He was settled now, happy, hidden away from the prying eyes and reaching claws. Until He returned. Reece Greymoore, a name Shepherd so desperately wished to eradicate from his mind. Their meeting had been brief, a lifetime ago, ending on soured notes that Shepherd no longer allowed to disturb his slumber. Reece shouldn't have found him, and yet there he was, speaking of friendship and favours and other pleasantries that had Shepherd's guard firmly bolstered around himself. But Reece never appeared in a shower of sunshine and rose petals. Rather, he spoke of so much worse, of threats to Shepherd's very life. Promises of safety fell upon deaf ears, disbelief a much more comforting blanket to reside within. Reece was not only an alpha but he was a ghost, a figure within Shepherd's past that should have never arisen. He arrived with death and dismay in his wake, sweet words weren't repayment enough. Reece's presence had shattered the fragile cage around Shepherd, allowing the light in, reminding him of the freedom of the chase. The roots he had planted were withering, tearing apart beneath him, leaving nothing but rot and decay where he stood. Maybe running was just how it was meant to be...

Ezra, a trans man, was never able to access the medical transition he desired. Years of looking at himself in the mirror with rejection have left him with shattered self-esteem and a constant silence towards the world. When he attends a school reunion, he reconnects with Leo, an outgoing man who used to bully him as a child, but he doesn't understand the depth of his words. Time has changed, Leo now looks at him with a mixture of interest, attraction, and regret. However, he can't believe someone like him could be seen that way, his mind is filled with voices repeating that he'll never be enough. Amidst lingering glances, painful memories, and conversations suspended in the air, the two embark on a slow and contradictory path. Leo insists on breaking down Ezra's walls, while Ezra must confront his deepest wound, his inability to love himself. The romance turns into a rough patch, filled with doubts and half-confessions, but also an unexpected chance for redemption. The question that runs through the story is not only whether they will be able to love each other, but whether Ezra will be able to love himself first, even in a skin he didn't choose.
