Earth is dying.
After centuries of neglect and environmental destruction, Earth begins rejecting its inhabitants. Oxygen levels deplete, the sun burns with devastating intensity, and the land becomes barren. Disease and starvation sweep across the planet, leading to the collapse of civilization. With most of the population gone, survival becomes a daily struggle for the remaining humans.
In desperation, Earth's leaders turn to space.
They make contact with a mysterious alien planet, AGIL, a technologically advanced world where magic exists. AGIL is home to tall, ethereal beings, some with giant-like physical appearances, and they offer a deal: in exchange for resources that can save Earth, they request fertile humans to help repopulate their world, as their species suffers from infertility. The remaining humans on Earth are left with no choice but to comply.
Eleni is one of the last survivors of Earth, an orphan. At eighteen, she is chosen for this "transaction" and is transported to AGIL. Once there, she discovers that she is more than just a means of reproduction-she carries ancient Agilian blood, making her a bridge-blood.
