His deep laughter echoed the room, sending a chill down her spine. He was talking with his friends. Yet his eyes kept suspiciously meeting hers.

She shifted uncomfortably under his gaze, wondering why he was staring at her instead of his friends. She bit her lip nervously and looked up only to meet his intense unwavering stare once more.
________
She is the epitome of innocence--soft spoken, would never hesitate to help the old lady next door and sweeter than sugar. Raised in a strict household, she never actually interacted with others her age, never been to a party and only has two friends... if you include her cat.

Mae truly believes with all her heart that the outside world is full of sunshine and rainbows...
One thing's for certain, she doesn't belong in the dark world.

But he IS the dark world.

"God, Sage, you're so frustrating. You really don't get it, do you?" "No, Cole. I don't. Why are you acting like this? Me and Henry are just friends." "Right. Like how you and I are just friends?" I paused. The room felt smaller. The tension between us pulsed in the air. My heartbeat quickened, chest tight. "Henry has a girlfriend," I said quietly. "Why are you being such a jerk? I said I was sorry. I never promised anything. There'll be other games." "Yeah, but-" "Yeah, but what, Cole? If you have something to say, just say it. Damn it." His voice dropped, rough and vulnerable all at once. "Because, Sage." "Because what?" And then he grabbed my face and pulled me instantly into his lips Not softly. Not tentatively. Hungrily Sage isn't new to charm. She's smart, magnetic, a little guarded, and she has a laugh that makes people lean in. But she's also the kind of girl who notices things, like the way Cole's eyes always flicks down to her lips before he catches himself, or how he'll always offer her his hoodie before she even says she's cold. Cole is frustrating. Not in the way most guys are. He's not loud or cocky or trying too hard to be funny. No, Cole is frustrating because he's thoughtful, and somehow knows exactly what to say to make Sage's stomach flip. He's the kind of guy who acts calm but falls apart the second she walks into a room. The kind who overthinks texts, panics around eye contact. He's not good at hiding it.

She's a wild, free spirit who sees the good in everyone, and he's the hardened, bad-tempered loner who wants nothing to do with her-yet no matter how hard he tries to push her away, she's the one temptation he can't escape. *** He's never met someone with such a bubbly personality. Not to mention the wildness and odd phrases she says every five minutes. He hates it. He hates how he can't stay away from it. He hates what she does to him; it's not like him to chase after some girl. She gets under his skin like no other. She's never met someone with such a bad attitude. He's ill-mannered and menacing. The glare never seems to leave his face. Considering it all, she can't help but feel the attraction toward him. Dangerous attraction toward a seemingly dangerous man. Maybe it's the tattoos on his arm that gets her attention. Or maybe it's because she can tell there's hope for good under his rough exterior. And she's about to find it, whether he likes it or not. It's no secret that the two of them are complete and total opposites. *** "You like being called Sugar, don't you?" I tease, placing my toothbrush back after finishing. He does the same and gives me a side-eyed scowl. He grips my chin harshly and kisses me. My body temperature raises a good ten degrees and my right leg goes all wiggly. He pulls away. "You like it when I kiss you, don't you?" He teases the same way I did to him and I'm left blubbering. "I think both of our questions are rhetorical," I lower my voice up at him. His lip curls up into a smirk.

Book 2 of the 'Love Unknown' series ____________________________ I look down at him, his eyes begging for the pleasure I had been denying him. In the corner of my eye, I notice his camera still sitting on the table. I smirk and walk over to it, pushing the record button. He looks at me with confusion laced all throughout his features, as I walk back to him his eyes follow me, study me. I run my index finger along his bottom lip as the very unholy things in my mind, break free. "Want to make a movie?" ☯︎☯︎☯︎ Fragile. That's one of the hundreds of thousands of words to describe Hazel Cora Grey. A girl who doesn't know who she is. The one thing that took her mind off of her Eating Disorder had shriveled into nothing and now? She tries her hardest to act like she's fine, like she isn't hurting inside because if anyone knew, questions would be asked. Questions she didn't want to answer. Some would say she's the type of girl to look into a blazing fire, and smile. Fragile. Not like a small, futile flower, but like a ticking bomb waiting for her time to leave her mark. Innocence. A boy who's been trained to think only about his future and career. Taught to never live in the moment for if he got too caught up with it, everything he's ever done and worked for, would have been for nothing. Micah Eugene Bennet had spent his entire life trying to live up to his father's expectations to no avail and well, one person can only take so much pressure and stress before they eventually give up. Or in this case, give in. Innocent. From his rounded glasses, to his hundreds of textbooks, to his untainted mind, the boy was innocent from the inside out. A romance in which two childhood lovers, separated early, find each other once again but this time, things have changed. ☯︎☯︎☯︎ Ratings: #1 showerthoughts - 8|12|2023 #1 secretdating -8|23|2023 #3 youngromance - 9|24|23 #4 teacherspet - 10|05|23 #2 university - 10|09|23 #1 college - 10
