Aarthi Vasanthan accompanied Sai Meenakshi, her pregnant sister-in-law, to the latter's maternal home. The family welcomed the guests with a warm smile, except for one distant stare thrown their way. Aarthi felt cold under the unyielding eyes of Sai Kiran, her sister-in-law's younger brother. She tried her hardest to hide the worry and discomfort, smiling along with the rest of the family, yet her subconscious mind was numbed, making it hard for her to maintain her calm composure. Being a soft-spoken, happy-going woman, she has always avoided troubles and confrontations. Being obedient and down-to-earth, she has always been forgiving and accepting. Oftentimes, letting others overstep her boundaries, comfort, emotions, and respect. Meeting Sai Kiran turned her resolve and morals upside down. She found a measured change in her personality and confidence, which were the consequences of her encounters with her sister-in-law's younger brother. Not because he's one of the people who caused her discomfort, but because he was the one with virtue. Sai Kiran was a man with high morals, fierce respect, and a lot of pride. He's unforgiving of things he finds unappealing. He leaves no one to overstep his dignity and self-esteem. His stance is oftentimes mistaken for arrogance, which might be a bit true because he sometimes forgets delicacy and gentleness when being approached with harm to himself or his family. Will Aarthi calm his fierce tides as he raises her bar for standards?

----- Meher sat on the edge of the bed, her back to Arhan. The room was silent except for the low hum of the AC. Her fingers trembled slightly as she took off her bangles. She hadn't cried when the doctor said it. But now, in the privacy of their room, everything felt real. "Meher..." Arhan's voice was quiet, almost hesitant. She didn't reply. He moved closer, sitting beside her, leaving a respectful distance. "I shouldn't have raised my voice earlier. I... I was frustrated, not with you. The surgery failed. I failed. And then... when I saw you in pain-" "You didn't even look at me properly, Arhan," Meher whispered, her voice cracking. "I didn't expect much, but... a little warmth?" Arhan clenched his fists. He had always prided himself on being composed, rational. But Meher's words struck something deeper. He turned to her slowly and took her hand. "I was scared too. That I'd lose you, or that you'd hate me for not being there during ..................... I didn't know how to process it all." Meher finally looked up, tears glistening in her eyes. Arhan leaned forward and gently kissed her forehead. "I'm with you now. Every step. Every pain. No more silence, okay?" She rested her head on his shoulder, and he wrapped his arm around her, pulling her close for the first time-not as husband and wife by name, but by heart. Outside, the world moved on. But inside that room, something changed-something real, finally beginning. ----
