"Careful, Monroe. Keep looking at me like that and I might forget you're taken." At 24, Kaitlyn Monroe is already living the life she dreamed of, working as a pediatrician, helping children, and in a long-term relationship with Lucas Grayson, the man she thought she'd spend forever with. Intelligent, composed, and quietly passionate, Kaitlyn prides herself on being loyal and doing the right thing, even when it's hard. But lately, things haven't been the same. Her relationship with Lucas has grown distant, and they haven't really talked in weeks. When her best friend Aubrey Collins invites her to spend the summer at a shared beach house with friends and Lucas's friends, whom she can't stand-Kaitlyn is hesitant. But deep down, she hopes this trip can help mend the cracks forming between her and Lucas. She's not prepared for Matthew Lawson. The 27-year-old, free-spirited photographer with a gaze that sees right through her, shatters her carefully built world in an instant. What starts as irritation quickly becomes intrigue, and Kaitlyn finds herself torn between the comfort of the life she's built... and the chaos of something new, something electric, something dangerously tempting. In a summer drenched in laughter, jealousy, secrets, and stolen glances, Kaitlyn is faced with a choice: stay true to what's safe, or cross the line for what might finally set her free.
