Sparda and Eva were blessed with three children, each born with their own peculiar traits and strength.
The youngest son's personality differed from his brothers. Yet, Sparda and Eva deem their youngest child bear a strong soul, similar to two of his older brothers.
He idolizes both brothers but feels inferior, caught between Dante's carefree strength and Vergil's calculated precision.
His mutated gene-a result of Sparda's demonic essence interacting unpredictably with Eva's human blood-sets him apart, making him feel like an outsider even within the family.
(If you haven't played the original games or are unfamiliar with the lore, I recommend looking into the original source. This book will include spoilers. Major ones)

Wayward Son (RWBY x DMC)
Cover art is from Visions of V. Sparda, nearly dead after fighting Mundus at the seal between Earth and Hell, finds himself saved by a widowed woman in a different reality. Seeing this world too is connected to Hell, he remains there for 20 long years after barely sealing the entrances to Hell. Finding love in each other, they marry and live happily ever- heh, just kidding. Sparda dies from the strain of his sacrifice to seal Hell, leaving the woman alone and pregnant, weakened and dying as well. Naming her stillborn son after her first husband, he breathes his first, impossible breath. In secret, she raises him alone in the woods for 5 short years. Dying with a plea to her child to run and live long, a new legend is set forth in Remnant. One forged in the flames of dark divine, blessed by the demon of death. Can this wayward son of Sparda protect those he cares about? Will he find purpose in life, never surrendering to chaos? Will he find a way to prove his worth to himself and save those he cares for, or will he just be another raging demon, born of tragedy and trauma, fueled by the echoes of blood, death, and darkness? Just a fanfic that I'll *try* not to abandon in favor of a new idea. I'll try to balance high-octane action, pseudo-slice of life, and Remnant's brand of chaos. In this AU, Hell links the DMC universe(s) with Remnant.

The Devil's Son (Devil May Cry Fan fiction)
Demons can have no family. Because of this, Legendary Dark Knight Sparda and his wife perished for their 'sin', and left Dante and Vergil in the world. The sons of Sparda fought, and in the end, only one was left standing. But could that be the end of the Sparda family? Vergil Sparda's only goal in life is to search for a demon named Phantom, to avenge his loved ones. Years ago, a demon ruined his family, and two decades down the road, Vergil Sparda has yet to put an end to Phantom. He views it as a weakness, but it is a weakness he cannot remove, or move past. It is a pain of a father who had lost his child, a husband who has lost his wife. There is nothing that Dante can do for his brother either, except to stay by Vergil's side, providing the only bit of family left. Vicious Hunter Victor also hunts Phantom, looking up to Vergil as an idol. A not-too-remarkable boy in Dante's view, Victor somehow finds himself teaming up with his idol to hunt down the demon who had ruined both their lives. But, as Victor begins to realize, there is more to Vergil Sparda than he thought initially. There is also more than Victor's dead parents. Because, Victor might just be The Devil's Son.Concluida
