A poetic journey of love, awakening, fear, and farewell.
I wrote this poem as a way to express and tell my story - a story many may quietly carry.It's about the kind of love that feels like home... until you realize the world outside has more to show you. It's about stepping into something bigger than comfort - into truth, into fear, into freedom.
There was beauty in what we had. A dreamlike love, safe and warm, blooming in a secret garden. But dreams can blur the line between love and illusion. And when I finally saw the world - in all its color, depth, and honesty - I was changed. I couldn't unsee it.
This poem speaks to anyone who has ever loved deeply but needed to leave to find themselves. It explores the tug-of-war between fear and curiosity, between staying and growing. Between gaslighting ourselves into safety... and facing the unknown.
This is my letting go.
My apology.
My truth.

I could've sworn I was in sanity but everyone thought I wasn't. The same thought whirled through the heads of my parents who specifically gave birth to me. With that, I found myself falling in love with my own solitude. I fought my demons alone. I chose to live by myself and isolated myself from the people I love. I'd been searching long and hard for a hand to hold. Then suddenly, a small light hidden in the depths of darkness flashed before me and the wall that I've been unconsciously building to protect myself vanished in an instant. Hating people and making them hate me is what I do. It doesn't matter if I did it intentionally or not. For years, I have been living my life giving disappointment, hatred, and putting those people's lives in danger. I don't care because that's how they made me feel. But why am I conscious of what you think about me? Why do I feel the need to obey, respect and make you think that I am a good person? What power do you think you hold? And who do you think you are? Eventually, feelings grew, mine became love that I want to keep for eternity. We both tried our best to fight for the love that we think we deserve. We both promised ourselves to conquer the waves and climb mountains to reach the hands of the person that we love. We strive hard to protect the string, and to not let anyone or anything cut them.
