A poetic journey of love, awakening, fear, and farewell.

I wrote this poem as a way to express and tell my story - a story many may quietly carry.It's about the kind of love that feels like home... until you realize the world outside has more to show you. It's about stepping into something bigger than comfort - into truth, into fear, into freedom.

There was beauty in what we had. A dreamlike love, safe and warm, blooming in a secret garden. But dreams can blur the line between love and illusion. And when I finally saw the world - in all its color, depth, and honesty - I was changed. I couldn't unsee it.

This poem speaks to anyone who has ever loved deeply but needed to leave to find themselves. It explores the tug-of-war between fear and curiosity, between staying and growing. Between gaslighting ourselves into safety... and facing the unknown.

This is my letting go.

Eventually, feelings grew, mine became love that I want to keep for eternity. We both tried our best to fight for the love that we think we deserve. We both promised ourselves to conquer the waves and climb mountains to reach the hands of the person that we love. We strive hard to protect the string, and to not let anyone or anything cut them. We were so desperate that we forgot it wasn't just the string that connects us. It was also our love, our souls and our fate. Our love was so deep that if one tries to touch it, they drown. Our souls were so intertwined that we became one till death. And our fate was cursed... that we ended like this... Did fate really play with us? "I would kill if I have to, I would slit a throat just to prove to you how much I love you and yet here you are, pointing that gun at me as if we didn't share a single t-thing." My voice cracked with desperation as I stopped my tears from falling out of agony. However, despite the current situation I have with her is it so silly of me to still hope that I am only dreaming? Hoping that this isn't real even though the coldness of the metal of the gun under my throat was cold enough to send shivers to my spine. It was cold enough to remind me that the reality I am hoping is the real fantasy. "I can't love you and I can't even bear the thought of loving you. Remember this, I would rather kill myself just to prove to you how much I loathe you." ⚠️Expect a lot of typographical and grammatical errors, and others.
