Not like Bella. Not silence. y/n's thoughts were like static-loud but impossible to decipher. Fuzzy edges. A girl screaming in a dream you can't remember after waking. He could feel rage under it. Long-buried, wet rage. And a sleepy, warm softness beneath that. You were chaos. Not silent.
"Do you want something?" you muttered, barely looking up.
Edward blinked. That never happened. Humans didn't just call him out like that.
"You're... interesting," he said before he could stop himself.
You snorted. "Most people say 'weird.' Or annoying."
"Interesting," he repeated. "Definitely... not boring."
You glanced at him sideways. "You say that like it's supposed to be a compliment."

Here I was, convinced that love was something I'd never allow myself to fall into. I truly believed it was a waste of time and energy-an illusion that left people empty. I had seen too many women become love-drunk, so wrapped up in someone else that they forgot who they were. I promised myself I would never be like that. I swore I wouldn't walk the same path my mother did, a path that led straight to self-destruction. But then I saw you. You stood there, glowing with a light so fierce it was almost blinding. You shone so brightly that I swore if I reached out to touch you, I'd burn. And yet, despite the danger, despite every warning I had carved into my heart, I couldn't stay away. "So you took a break from school?" I ask looking through the microscope, I knew Lydia said to ignore him. 'How can someone be a jackass, disappear for an entire week, and then return, and be the kindest of people, unless he was on his period.' I thought to myself, and strangely Edward started chuckling, as if he read my thoughts, but that couldn't be possible. "Yeah. I was out of town for a couple of days, due to personal reasons." He says. "Prophase." I told him, writing it down. "Do you mind if I look?" He asks, pointing at the microscope, I pushed it towards him, as he looked as well, I couldn't help, but stare, he was absolutely beautiful. "It's prophase." He says, looking back at me, making me look away, embarrassed I almost got caught. "Like I said." I mutter softly. "So are you enjoying the rain?" He asks, putting in the next slide, I looked back at him curiously. "You're seriously asking about the weather? Of all things?" I ask, I couldn't help but start wandering about what kind of person he is. "Yeah, I... I guess I am." Edward says, a smile on his face, and it made him look more handsome than he already was. "I absolutely love it, any sort of cold weather, it just makes me feel calm, and...." I trailed off, once I noticed Edward staring at me with a certain look in his eyes, but I just couldn't quite place what it was. "What? Is there something on my face?" I asks, touching my face hoping I didn't eat like a pig again, leaving food stains on my face, I hate it when that happens. "Nothing." He says, looking into the microscope once again. My older sister, Bella, and I had to move from Phoenix to a small town in Washington called Forks. It was a pretty big change for me but even bigger for Bella. Everything was going pretty well, until Charlie makes me go with Bella to the Cullen's, for her birthday, and Jasper tries to kill her. Since then I know everything about them. After Edward leaves Bella and she becomes broken, Charlie prefers that I go with her to most places. That also includes when she went to check if Jacob was ok after he ignored her, and he turns into a wolf. After everything goes back to normal for Bella, (meaning Edward comes back) dad still likes having me around her. So, he makes me go with her when Bella goes with Jacob, to sit around a campfire and talk about their "history." But at that same time is when it happens, when I meet the youngest one of the tribe, Seth Clearwater. He imprints on me. And my whole life changed because of all of it. I went from the sporty, loud girl who tried to stay away from Bella's weirdness, to being one of the tribe.
