After a devastating event in the middle of the Time Twins arc, Kai finds himself mysteriously transported back to the beginning of Ninjago's timeline - waking in the wilderness with two young dragons, Ash and Surf, who share a soul-deep bond with him but don't recall their origins. With memories up to the Skybound arc (even though he is from the Twins of Time arc, but he doesn't remember), but no clue how he got back, Kai must walk the line between changing fate and preserving the timeline. More mature, patient, and inwardly burdened, he makes it his mission to protect his loved ones from the pain he only remembers.

But Kai doesn't think of her the same way as everyone else does; he knows that there's more to the supposed cold-blooded killer she is- especially when he makes a surprising connection to something dear to him. But when other forces above the assassin makes their move, everything just get ten times more complicated for the ninja and Kai. Most stories have happy endings with love and peace. It's a wonderful day in Jamanakai city. Kai's plans for the day are to deliver a sword, get the loaded payment, buy necessities and potatoes to bake, go home, and take a rest. The last two have scratched off however, and it's all courtesy to this guy he comes across too; he's really tall, busting with muscles, owns a pretty pair of big eyes with green irises, and wears a damn charming smile. Everything goes upside down after that. Suddenly, before the gods could spare a blink, Kai is aboard a pirate ship with people he least expected to be with. Kai makes terrible plans, but this trip has got to be the worst yet as he literally fights for his life against one or two fellow mythical creatures. He's also fighting for his troubling heart, as the same guy who ruined his life never fails to skyrocket his heart rate through the sky, and churn his stomach like a towel being twisted into a rope. (I only own the plot none of the Ninjago characters and this is basically a AU) Cole is the alpha of his pack and has lived in luxury his whole life though he isn't one who hasn't had hurt in his own way. His pack is the most powerful one in the world and he's one of the most feared yet fair leaders of the werewolf community that took up most of the world besides some human villages and towns that stick to their human selves except for one night a year. Every end of summer each town offers female humans in towns squares between 18-30 for werewolves to see if they are the mates of any werewolves and were only to be taken if they were the mate and only the females are offered. Cole has no mate and he needs a Luna too help him rule his pack because he can't do it alone and it's starting to weigh him down a little. So what does he do when he does meet his mate, but it's nothing like he suspected? Kai's a orphan with his little sister his mother and father were killed by rogue werewolves during a attack and topped with the possibility his only family might be offered to one like a slave. Well he grew a deep hatred for them and everything they were. When Nya turns eighteen she's sent as one of the offerings while he's in the church. But scared of loosing his only family he vowed to protect he snuck out of the church to stop his sister from being taken like so many others.
