After a devastating event in the middle of the Time Twins arc, Kai finds himself mysteriously transported back to the beginning of Ninjago's timeline - waking in the wilderness with two young dragons, Ash and Surf, who share a soul-deep bond with him but don't recall their origins. With memories up to the Skybound arc (even though he is from the Twins of Time arc, but he doesn't remember), but no clue how he got back, Kai must walk the line between changing fate and preserving the timeline. More mature, patient, and inwardly burdened, he makes it his mission to protect his loved ones from the pain he only remembers.

(May have huge gaps between upload times but this story will be finished, that I can promise) Everyone thinks of Kai as a selfish person who puts himself before others and many other negative things. As Kai's time as a ninja, he always heard these comments and he couldn't do anything about it so he has to bottle his feelings whenever people say this. One day when he was on a mission with Cole to save some adventurous that got stuck in a narrow cave a disaster struck on Kai. After the mission Cole got all the thanks and Kai got none, Cole was the only one who truly understood what happened. Kai gets sick of how he is being treated and leaves to have a walk to take his mind off of things... but then he meets someone he didn't expect to meet... It's a wonderful day in Jamanakai city. Kai's plans for the day are to deliver a sword, get the loaded payment, buy necessities and potatoes to bake, go home, and take a rest. The last two have scratched off however, and it's all courtesy to this guy he comes across too; he's really tall, busting with muscles, owns a pretty pair of big eyes with green irises, and wears a damn charming smile. Everything goes upside down after that. Suddenly, before the gods could spare a blink, Kai is aboard a pirate ship with people he least expected to be with. Kai makes terrible plans, but this trip has got to be the worst yet as he literally fights for his life against one or two fellow mythical creatures. He's also fighting for his troubling heart, as the same guy who ruined his life never fails to skyrocket his heart rate through the sky, and churn his stomach like a towel being twisted into a rope. The first day they met was already stressful, let alone the following ones. She gives the ninja trouble and always manages to knock them down to their knees on every encounter. But Kai doesn't think of her the same way as everyone else does; he knows that there's more to the supposed cold-blooded killer she is- especially when he makes a surprising connection to something dear to him. But when other forces above the assassin makes their move, everything just get ten times more complicated for the ninja and Kai. Most stories have happy endings with love and peace. Kai is the eldest, the adult of the pair with his fully fledged personality as brother. He raised Nya, parented her as his own child from the simplest age of five years old. Kai lost his childhood because of the responsibilities he had to take on at such a young age, molding his life to fit his little sister's. Kai gets sick, and even though he is the master of fire, a fever drastically overcomes him. Causing headaches, and outburst of fire, it's not any normal illness. What happens then? Will his mind get warped from all this? Who will find him first?
