The Great War Lord Wellington

Episode 1 of the Dogs & Cats Under Empire Saga

In a surreal and brutal world ruled by the East India Trading Company, animals have been subjugated into a rigid caste system. Cats are slaves, dogs are untouchables, and raccoons and possums are pests. At the top sits Corbett Blackwood, a porcelain-skinned, cigarette-smoking, snake-bathing colonial overlord who commands an army of redcoats and a terrifying squad of venomous mercenary enforcers: Kaal Naaga, Python, Kobra, Spider, Scorpion, and Toad.

In the depths of a dusty slave colony, Chanchaludin-a fat, black Bombay cat-struggles to survive with his dysfunctional family and shrinking dignity. Bullied by his abusive mother Maggie, neglected by his bitter siblings, and haunted by hunger, Chanchaludin dreams of one thing: the return of the legendary and possibly insane Great Warlord Wellington, a cat warrior whispered about in bedtime myths and squirrel-biting rumors.

When Chanchaludin defies the enforcers to protect the colony's food, he's violently shut down by his own family. But his courage inspires Binyamin, a white-blonde cat mercenary who secretly loathes his own role in the regime. After delivering a tearful monologue in the rain (naturally), Binyamin begins to question his loyalties.

What follows is a growing tension in the colony: rebellion is whispered, Wellington's legend spreads, and Chanchaludin-our fat, awkward, unlikely hero-stands at the heart of it all.
