Fear is the Dead King of Shadowfell, the ruler of a city called Cinderfall within the realm of the dead. Fear was once human, a vile, rotten man who, upon his death, became changed forever. 
Fear is now mocking death. 

Fear is a Vampire. A creature of immense strength and power, a being of eternity. Fear and his court need to feed every couple of months on Humans to keep their immortality. A new batch of fresh blood has just come in, and Fear is hungry.

Vespa Nightingale, a human woman who has never had it easy, just got thrust into Fear's world. A realm of colourless misery. As she embarks on the journey of understanding why she was swept from Earth and brought here, Vespa will encounter creatures only Dreams can create. Upon learning that Fear and his court are Vampires, Vespa is burdened by the urge to flee, only that urge is worsened when she realizes that she is dinner. 

Can Vespa escape Shadowfell with her mortality, or will she be doomed to live out the rest of her days in the cold hands of Fear? Can Vespa find a way to bring the humans home, or will she become immortal like her hosts? Even worse, can Vespa and Fear escape the heated attraction that's blooming between them? Or will they stay together for all eternity?
