Two broken souls. One shared book. A silent story written between the lines. Soobin has lost too many people to fate. One by one, life has taken away those he loved most, leaving him stranded in his own silence. With every loss, the world grew colder. Now, even continuing his studies feels like a burden. He fears letting anyone in. Because what if they leave too? Beomgyu knows the ache of abandonment all too well. He has mastered the art of pushing people away. Years of betrayal and pain have taught him that trusting others only leads to heartbreak. He hides behind sarcasm and solitude, even from his own family. But beneath his guarded exterior lies a heart that aches to be held, to be understood. Beneath the armor lies a boy quietly aching-for connection, for someone who sees him. They meet in the most unexpected way. Not face to face, but through ink and paper. They meet without really meeting. Hidden notes left inside a forgotten book in the library become their safe place. Their thoughts spill like confessions, their fears echo back in replies. They become each other's secret diaries. Strangers who understand each other better than anyone else ever has. The library becomes their sanctuary. A quiet corner of the world where pain is poured out and understood. A home neither of them asked for. But one they now can't live without. But the heart doesn't stay hidden forever. Beomgyu longs to see the boy behind the letters. To know if the connection he feels is real. If the person on the other side of the page could be the one to finally stay. Will Soobin let him in? Will Beomgyu risk getting hurt again? Can two people so afraid of love find it in each other? In a world where everyone leaves, can two lonely souls find their way to each other? Or will their fears write the ending before their story even begins? "Library" is a slow-burn tale of healing, soft love, friendship, the quiet magic of being seen, in and finding home in the quietest places.
The Librarian and the Fox Princess: a Donghua Dijun and Bai Fengjiu story, V.I by Small_T_Rex
172 parts Complete Mature
This story is about the birth and development of the best friendship between Donghua Dijun and his little fox. In my re-imagined story, I am attempting to give our beloved leads a genuine chance at love with their own thoughts, behaviors, and desires. Granted, life is full of misunderstandings, obstacles and karma. Donghua learns that being a heartless god has its consequences. Having been careless and inconsiderate with the hearts of those who had fawned over him, he'll find it difficult to fulfill his. At its very core, this is a character-driven story about healing from trauma and the growth of a deep and meaningful friendship. It also attempts to explore the coming of age of love and desire for each of them. Those who can't tolerate slow burns should avoid reading this story ;) They meet much later, (she never becomes his maid) and was not involved in the BQ/Su Su/YH situation. Xiao Bai is young and very innocent as this story unfolds. Donghua is arrogant and obtuse, though with more playfulness and tenderness in the style of The Pillow Book. His edges are much softer. There are quite a few characters from the original series. Zhe Yan, Mo Yuan, Bai Zhen, Bai Qian, Ye Hua, Lian Song, Si Ming and Zhong Lin will make appearances, plus others from Eternal Love and ELOD. Lust + desire will play a part of this story so mature themes/content in later chapters. Reader discretion advised. Story is also LGBTQ+ friendly, as am I. This story and the characters are based on Tangi Gongzi's Three Lives Three Worlds, the Pillow Book, and TMOPB. Images borrowed for this story (like the book cover) belong to the tv dramas and their respective owners/artists. I ask that the original elements of of my story, characters, ideas, and descriptions not be copied or used without my permission. Thank you! May all beings hold themselves and others in lovingkindness.
"The Karma of Heaven: Part I" by akshu09s
4 parts Ongoing
This is a poignant and beautifully written story about star-crossed lovers, Taehyun and Aara, who are separated by societal expectations and duty. The narrative explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the enduring power of true devotion. Story Summary The story begins with the first meeting between Taehyun and Aara at a river festival, where they exchange a brief but meaningful glance. Despite their different social stations, they continue to meet in secret, sharing music and poetry. However, their love is doomed from the start, and Taehyun is forced to marry a noblewoman, Seonhwa, to fulfill his family obligations. Tragic Love Story Aara's death from illness serves as a catalyst for Taehyun's introspection and regret. He realizes too late the depth of his feelings for Aara and the sacrifices he made for duty. The story follows Taehyun's journey as he grapples with his loss and the weight of his responsibilities. Themes and Symbolism The story explores the tension between duty and personal desire, highlighting the societal expectations that can suffocate individual happiness. The scarf and pendant serve as symbols of the enduring love between Taehyun and Aara, representing the connection that transcends even death. Character Development Taehyun's character is complex and multifaceted, torn between his duty and his heart. Aara, on the other hand, is depicted as a kind and gentle soul, who loves Taehyun selflessly. Seonhwa, the noblewoman, is a tragic figure, trapped in a loveless marriage and struggling to come to terms with her husband's enduring love for another. Conclusion The story is a heart-wrenching tale of love, loss, and longing. It raises questions about the nature of duty, sacrifice, and the human heart's capacity to love. The narrative is a poignant reminder that some loves are doomed from the start, but the memories and emotions they evoke can last a lifetime.
