Rika Amamiya has recently transferred to the JAKDF's Third division, wanting a fresh start and a quiet place to bury the truth that lives within her. Sharp-eyed, calm under pressure, and deadly with a gun, she quickly proves herself as a capable new recruit under the watchful eye of Vice-Captain Soshiro Hoshina.

Blades in hand and sarcasm to boot, Hoshina is the last person Rika expects to connect with. But she soon begins to see that behind his teasing smile lies a man as burdened by expectation as she is by her past. What begins as wary partnership slowly changes into something deeper and completely undeniable.
