In the remote mountain town of Black Hollow, people are vanishing without a trace. For struggling journalist Maya Abrams, this could be the story that saves her failing career-if it doesn't cost her life first. Drawn by whispers of strange occurrences and desperate families, Maya arrives to investigate, but she quickly discovers that the town is hiding dark secrets. Locals are tight-lipped, the forest seems to breathe with an unnatural presence, and an old, abandoned research facility lies rotting in the shadows-its secrets buried but not forgotten. When Maya stumbles upon a chilling connection between the missing people and the facility's sinister history, she becomes the next target. Stalked by an unseen force and hunted by those desperate to keep the truth hidden, Maya must unravel the mystery before she becomes another name on the growing list of the missing. But the deeper she digs, the more she realizes that the missing didn't just vanish-they came back changed. And whatever they've become is watching her.

1987, Black Hollow - a secluded, rotting mining town buried in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Once prosperous, it is now a husk of broken homes, shuttered churches, and rusted industry. The dense forest around the town holds secrets older than America itself, steeped in folklore, missing persons, and unexplained madness. Time seems to warp in Black Hollow, and outsiders rarely leave unchanged - if they leave at all.
