Isabel Silva, a 60 year-old former ballerina, sits at her desk in Porto, surrounded by old photographs, cards and souvenirs from the war. She decides to write her biography, not only to preserve her history, but also to confront the ghosts of the past that still haunt her. As she writes, Isabel remembers her youth in Paris, where she arrived full of dreams and ambitions. The war transformed her life in ways she could never have imagined. She describes how she joined the Resistance, using her position as a dancer to help sabotage the Nazis and save lives. However, the heart of her story is her forbidden romance with Heinrich von Reinhardt, the German general who made her question everything she believed in.

"Mein Kampf. My struggle. It is different for everyone, is it not? I just didn't want to see the world from someone else's point of view. I have my own story, so do you and so does everyone. These white pages are for me to write my story" --- x --- x---- Two young hearts in love. The propaganda that questioned humanity. A war that divided the world. The pages of history that sullied the soil. A tale was spun when Germany entered a new era with Adolf Hitler. With that tale happened the forbidden story of two young Germans in love, an Aryan and a Jew. As the world was thrown into the chaos of the Second World War and the Holocaust, new horrors unfolded in the peaceful lives of the young lovers. Death and despair that was tested with the strength of a smile or two.
