Audrey Álvaro wasn't supposed to be in Spain. She was supposed to be in D.C., pretending her ex didn't happen and writing ad copy for weed seltzers no one drinks. But after a few glasses of wine and one poorly timed impulse, she booked a flight to Collada Vieja-a mountain town her father barely mentioned, and a place her abuelo left behind decades ago. She doesn't speak Spanish. She doesn't know the customs. The hostel owner might think she's unstable. But sometimes the best journeys start with no plan. Translating Audrey is a story about legacy, getting lost in translation, and what happens when you follow your breakdown across an ocean.

Your heart was empty, it has been for 15 years and you kept coming back to that same old place you were told to stay. You knew that nobody will come but that's the only thing you can hold on to... their promise, a promise that they will come back and get you there. So you waited for someone who will never come. On the same day, 15 years later, a 'supposedly' typical day of waiting for the loved ones in your past, your path crossed with a beautiful Latina sitting on a bench not that far away from where you are. That changed the course of your life.
