Thaleia Reed Age: 18 Background: A Bachelor of Medical Technology graduate who just passed her board exams-but feels strangely detached from the achievement. After passing her board exams, Thaleia Reed transfers to a small-town called Larkpine. Nestled in the hills-where the streets are narrow, the rain never stops, and everyone seems to already belong somewhere. She chose Medical Technology because it made sense-stable, noble, expected-but deep down, she knows her heart is tethered to something else. Something she can't name yet. Life in this town is painfully slow. Cafés close early. People remember what you wore yesterday. Everyone sits with the same people at lunch. Thaleia walks the halls like a shadow-quiet, observant, almost untouchable. She's not trying to fit in, not yet. She's trying to feel anything. Each day, she stares out of fogged-up windows, sketching strangers in the margins of her notebooks, chasing the edge of some unspoken longing. What is it she really wants? Why does everything feel like a life meant for someone else?

The story opens with the storm. Daniela is trapped in it, soaked, trembling, and lost in panic. Her fear of rain isn't just about the car crash, though. There's another hidden truth tied to that night: someone was there when it happened. Someone she never forgot. You. Back then, you were just a kid too, standing by helplessly as the accident unfolded. You saw the wreck, saw the flashes of ambulance lights, saw Daniela being pulled away screaming for her parents. You never knew her name, but that memory has stayed buried in you for years, etched into the sound of rain. Unlike her, you grew to love it, because it made you feel close to that memory, close to the girl who survived. Now, years later, in the middle of a storm, you stumble upon her again without realizing it at first. The curly-haired girl curled into herself, shaking in the downpour, it's her. The very same girl from that night. When you approach, she doesn't recognize you. To her, you're just a stranger. But something about her face, her eyes, snaps you back to that rainy night long ago. The plot unfolds with this haunting question: what if the person you were destined to meet was someone whose pain you had already witnessed, without either of you knowing fate would pull you together again? As the story moves forward, you're torn between telling her the truth, that you were there the night her life shattered, or keeping it hidden so she doesn't see you as part of the trauma. The rain then becomes more than fear or comfort, it's the thread that's always tied you both together. ❗❗PAUSED❗❗
