Oliver Fulgencio was twenty-six, sharp-eyed, and always a little out of place. Moving to Forks, Washington, should have been routine: small town, quiet streets, predictable faces-but Oliver had learned long ago that "predictable" was a lie. He was undercover for the FBI now, tracking a lead no one outside his department could know existed, and the last thing he wanted was... well, anything supernatural.
Yet, as soon as his boots crunched against the wet pine needles outside his new apartment, he felt the shift. The air smelled different here. Heavy. Waiting. Dangerous.
Oliver was soft in some ways-warm eyes, a quick smile that could disarm anyone-but rough-edged in others. His body moved with the caution of someone who had learned that the world often wanted to break you. Being alert wasn't paranoia. It was survival.
He didn't mean to get injured on his first night, but fate-or maybe just bad luck-had other plans. A redhead, pale as moonlight and just a little too close for comfort, crossed his path. And somehow, in the chaos, he stumbled straight into the orbit of a pack of wolves that seemed... to know him. Not just know him. Claim him.
The Quileutes felt it too. When Oliver walked into town, the air shifted. Teeth and claws didn't show, but instincts screamed warning.
And Oliver? He had no idea just how much he had walked into.

"I am a hunter. Horse mounted, beast stabbing."
The quiet town of Folks experiences more than one new kid within a year when Bella's arrival is followed months later by Angelo Choi.
But something seems entirely off about the new, beautiful student. At least to Edward. He can't read Angelo's mind, and he doesn't like that level of unpredictability. Bella think's he's being dumb, keeping someone who's done nothing wrong at arm's length, but maybe Edward's worries hold some weight to them.
(Just to explain myself, I was dared by a friend to write Twilight fanfiction. However, part of the dare was that I had to take it completely seriously, so here I am. I am not making fun of the fandom or the canon in any way shape or form (●'◡'●) I did actually read the first book. Or at least I listened to the audio book. This fic takes place at the end of the first book, right at the end of the school year in June and over the summer)
