Throughout the labyrinth of "fairy doors" located in Ann Arbor Michigan, there is a vast fairy realm: Ephaestron. Sisters Rubina and Kalina must navigate the metaphysical juxtaposed to the stark reality of their non-traditional childhood with the guidance of Lilac, a fairy doll rescued by a young Rubina who enlightens the girls to another world full of whimsy and imagination. When their two worlds begin to bleed together, Ruby and Kalina must come to understand themselves and each other in order to overcome a dark force and preserve the kingdom of Ephaestron and their very personhood as it unravels.
