Evaline is a 15 year old German girl who lives in a dark time in her life. 1937. A year of the Holocaust, A year of domestic violence, A year where dating older men was elite and if you didn't date one you were seen as lame. Evaline in her risk of having an amazing sophomore year risks her sanity to date an older man who doesn't love her and only sees her as an object. That doesn't distract her though. Her love was so blind it led to her death that finished all deaths.

He's worn down and broken, but under the layers he's swathed himself in since the death of his mother, there is a lively, loving person. Genuine, attractive, and kind, he's Eva's first outside friend. He can take her away and they can both escape. Anyone can go just about anywhere with a stolen 15 grand in their backpack.
