Jungkook's POV They say you should never follow monsters into the dark. But no one ever warned me what to do when the monster... saved you. Before I even knew his name, I knew who he was. Kim Taehyung. The boy who walked like he ruled the world but looked like he wanted nothing from it. He didn't talk much. He didn't smile. He didn't try to belong-and somehow that made the whole world bend around him. His leather jacket was always half-zipped, chains dangling carelessly around his neck, and his eyes... they never looked scared. He was the type of person people didn't just avoid-they feared. But I didn't. I noticed the way people moved aside when he entered a room. I saw how even the seniors quieted around him. Everyone whispered about him like he was a walking threat, a storm waiting to break. But when he looked at me-just once-his eyes weren't cold. They were empty. Like no one had ever looked back at him and stayed. And then... he saved me. From hands that gripped too tight. From voices that laughed too loud. From the fear I tried to hide behind my books and my smile. He didn't say much. Just three words: "Let. Him. Go." And like a spell, they listened. That was the first time I saw someone fight for me. The first time I felt seen. And maybe that's why I started following him. At first, I told myself it was just gratitude. That I wanted to thank him. But it wasn't just that. It was curiosity. Obsession. Safety. Wonder. Something unnamed that made my heart race every time I saw the back of his head in a crowd. I followed him like a shadow, quiet and close, even when he acted like I wasn't there. Everyone called him heartless. But maybe they just never gave him something to protect. And I didn't know it then-but from the moment he saved me... I was already his. Where softie Kookie is the cutest shadow of heartless Kim Taehyung..

After all, it really didn't matter if I left, because Kook could never see me the way I wished he would. Never see me as someone worthy of love. Never. Could a dead, frozen heart break? It felt like mine would. "Taehyung," Kook said. I froze, staring at his unopened eyes. Had he woken, caught me here? He looked asleep, yet his voice had been so clear... He sighed a quiet sigh, and then moved restlessly again, rolling to his side-still fast asleep and dreaming. "Taehyung," he mumbled softly. He was dreaming of me. Could a dead, frozen heart beat again? It felt like mine was about to. "Stay," he sighed. "Don't go. Please...don't go." He was dreaming of me, and it wasn't even a nightmare. He wanted me to stay with him, there in his dream. I struggled to find words to name the feelings that flooded through me, but I had no words strong enough to hold them. For a long moment, I drowned in them. When I surfaced, I was not the same man I had been. ⋅𖥔⋅ ━━✶━━ ⋅𖥔⋅ If you love Taekook and BTS, and never got a chance to read the Twilight Saga series, you will love this story. This is MIDNIGHT SUN. It's the version of the first book TWILIGHT told in Edward Cullen's POV.
