There is a world out there where I could have been happy. Where we could have been friends, and you could have benefited from what I know. Unfortunately, we don't live there. The experiment.
They used my vulnerability against me. They used that weapon, to make me accept their stupid idea. And I of course, accepted it, I didn't even know what they were going to do. They tugged and poked and even shoved their disgusting finger in your wound, just to see you cry. To see you change. No pitty in their eyes. They just continue. They drag you around with metal chains, hit you and turn you into a experiment. But I had enough of the tugging, the clawing, the moaning, the crying and pleading for them to stop, but simply feeding them with our pain. They turned me into something, that neither do they know what I am. Their afraid of me, of my reflexes, my strength. I killed a lot of them. They say I have a cold heart, that I don't feel nothing. That's why they call me: Death -----------------------------------------************************************--------------------------------------------- Death. A teen girl, pitch black hair, black eyes, white skin. Her height is 5'8. People are scared of her, not just because of her strength but because of they way she kills. She lived in this hell hole, where they take her to rooms. Examine. Fight. She knows she won't be able to entertain them for long. She decides to run. Soul. Brown hair as mud, blue eyes as the sky. Hight 6'2. Tanned and toned body. Death's best friend in the hell hole they're in, he's as cold as she is. But shows a bit of sympathy. Well... More than her at least. Certainly they could trust that those in power ultimately had the best interests of the people in mind, right? ~~~ Luna slouched low in her seat, staring at droplets of water that ran diagonally down the window of the bus. The sky was a flat, depressing grey and the incessant, soaking rain left her constantly chilled. It was a typical "liquid sunshine" day in the Pacific Northwest. They drove past a single tall scraggly tree on top of a hill shrouded in mist. The creepy tree was full of screaming crows. How could she hear them from inside the bus when she couldn't even seem to hear the voices of the kids around her? Geez, that was an awfully freaking dark image. She shivered and looked away. What did they call a group of crows again? Right, a murder of crows. Perfect. The weather was certainly the only thing that was typical these days, although you'd never know it by looking around the bus at most of the kids as they sat joking and gossiping with each other just like they had before... before that day everything had changed. Never is a Mirror
I used to think the worst thing a place could do was keep you. Never taught me different. It lets you choose-and then makes sure the choice chooses you back. By daylight I work the door at Afterglow, a club of glass and iron and music that keeps its own kind of time. By night I count breaths, watch the mirrors, and pretend the soft diamond of salt over my heart is just an old scar. I don't say the word for what I can do under my breath. I don't look too long at the water. I don't answer when the ticking starts. Once, there was an island that ran on names, ledgers, and the right song at the wrong hour. There was a boy who arrived like a reflection and loved me the way a snare loves a sparrow-beautifully, relentlessly. There were rules disguised as jokes, games that tasted like devotion, and a crown that was really a lie if you listened closely enough. Mercy wore resin. Truth tasted like iron. And every wish I whispered came back with teeth. Now the past keeps surfacing-through windows, through music, through the mouths of strangers who don't know what they're asking. I wanted quiet. A pause. Something that didn't bleed me. Instead I got choices, and the kind of love that uses your yes as a lever. If I go back, it won't be because I'm brave.
