The Gryffindor common room glowed with a comforting orange hue as the fire crackled, casting long shadows on the stone walls. The girls' dormitory had finally settled into something resembling peace after a year of war and chaos.

Ginny flopped onto the rug, quill tucked behind her ear. “Do you think we’ll ever get used to normal again?”

“Define normal,” Hermione muttered from the corner, nose buried in a thick transfiguration book. “I’m still waiting for someone to break into the school or try to kill us.”

Parvati laughed softly from her bed. “Well, no one's died this week. That’s a start.”

In the middle of them sat Lyra Moore, a quiet seventh-year who had transferred from Ilvermorny the year before the battle. She had fought alongside them, though she'd never quite felt like she belonged.

“I keep dreaming about the Great Hall,” Lyra confessed, voice low. “Not the battle… just the ceiling. The stars. I missed them when we were hiding.”

Ginny looked up at her. “You’re one of us now. Gryffindor’s not just a house it’s a family. War or not.”

Lyra smiled faintly. For the first time, she believed it.

Hermione finally looked up. “Besides, you’ve faced Death Eaters, trolls, and Professor McGonagall’s wrath during NEWT prep. If that doesn’t make you a Gryffindor, nothing will.”

The girls laughed. And for one night, the fire didn’t feel like it was holding back the dark. It just felt warm.
