After Steven's meltdown, the Crystal Gems become incredibly worried about Steven and his mental health. They try their best to give him the help he needs, but he knows the only person who can truly help him is himself.
Struggling with his new powers, his emotions, and the possibility of corruption again, Steven tries to get his life on track and finally heal from everything he went through. But it's a lot harder than it seems.

hey guys, ive been absent forever, but im really gonna try to finish this story (and possibly ones that have been sitting in drafts for years that i worked super hard on 😐)
i found myself scrolling through steven universe fanfics and never finding quite the one i was looking for, so i thought, "how about i just make it myself", and now here we are.
this fic is set after "I Am My Monster" but, in this universe, steven never leaves beach city (we'd miss the boy too much ☹️)

Steven, Homeworld, Danger... Diamonds... Those words don't sound too comforting together, right? Who said this was a comforting story? For Steven and the gems, things finally don't go right. When Steven is separated from Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl during the attempt to retrieve his father from the zoo, he is found, and quickly identified as a rose quartz gem... and not just any, but the rebellion leader's own son. What if there was a new family who is moving to Beach city just have a peaceful life, but they ended up meeting a strange boy who is so overly Positive but has a troubled life that's trying to hide his problems with his bright smile? what do they do when they meet? This takes place after the spinel incident and steven meets a whole new family moving to beach City! Steven looks different compared to when he was kid, but after white diamond removed his gem he began to notice that something wasn't quite right so he went to the mirror and look at whats different and to his surprise, his hair was turning pink but thats not all he noticed, his Gem...it began to rotate to that of a diamond so he did the only thing he could think of, he went to the diamonds about this, so say they were shocked was an understatement, so white diamond began to explain that maybe when she removed his gem, the gem itself began to make changes because your human half can't take the diamond powers that are showing so it maybe changing you to be a half-Diamond, steven understood that his gem was only doing what it thought was protecting him. So he just let it happen even though it was hurting when his gem was rotating but white diamond said that it might take awhile for it to rotate. So he was just walking around in pain but doesn't let it affect him and he didn't tell the gems of the new changes yet.
