Adeline (Addie) Stark was supposed to die in the car crash that killed her parents. Up until that night, she had been 20 years old, worrying about her sophomore year of college and her annoying playboy of a brother, until December 16th, 1991. Someone pulled Addie from the car. Someone saved her life.
Fueled with only the memory of a man with a metal arm, Addie spends the next few years searching for the person responsible for the deaths of her parents.
But the winter soldier has been looking for Addie, too.
Kidnapped by HYDRA, Addie is experimented on and tortured, wielded into a super soldier weapon who has the ability to control shadows. She becomes The Nightingale. Equipped with these new abilities, she is forced to become the partner to the Winter Soldier. Forced to forget her brother and the life she used to live, she quickly learns to trust the man with the metal arm. The two are all they have in an ocean of darkness and pain.
But what happens when the past comes calling? When two of the most elite weapons aren't strong enough to fight their own feelings?
