I heard slow footsteps approaching. My heart was pounding so hard, it echoed in my ears. The door creaked open .
A pair of brown eyes stared right into mine.
"Y...you came? L..love?" came a husky, manly voice from inside the room.
My eyes slowly moved down to his hands. Blood was dripping from his fingers, trailing down like tiny red threads.
"What were you doing?" I asked, my voice low but sharp. a dead torn hen was lying on floor as if he tore the poor animal with his own nails.
He looked down at his stained nails, blinking slowly.
"I.....I c.. couldn't find nail cutter ," he whispered, his voice shaking like he didn't know what he did. He seemed innocent. Innocently daangerous. So innocent that it could kill me in seconds.
