"I need you to promise that you won't fight them." He says and she wants to scream at him. He seems to relax against her," thank you." She moves her head just enough that she can feel his temple against her own," can you promise me something?" "Maybe," he says coughing weakly. He moves, maybe it's the blood loss or maybe it's the fact that he can't stand to see her cry, towards her.
