Lydia tar is a cold conductor, known for her harsh standards and glares reserved for her colleagues, her hard separation between her private and work lives and even harder work drive, that is until she comes across a young violinist, Serena Alden. Serena is 25, a violinist from the UK, she has moved to Germany to chase her lifelong dream of being a part of the berlin philharmonic, she gets accepted to join the chamber orchestra, lead by james williams, and she is over the moon, but over time she will warm to Lydia Tar, the enigmatic Symphonic maestro. AU where lydia isn't married for my sanitys sake, ya girl just wants a nice clean ending thats wrapped with a little bow and not dripping in adultery, although she is a single mom to Petra because that dynamic was precious, inspired by the Alex Warren song Ordinary

A cigarette lay fresh in the ashtray on her nightstand, a flimsy wisp of smoke rising from the end. The image floored me. It evoked my early childhood memories of watching the first ever indie movies starring Gena Rowlands in the 70s, the rebellious and gritty spirit of them, and the reasons why I fell in love with cinema as a preteen. ----- An aspiring young film executive encounters Cate Blanchett at a prestigious screening. Financial interests prevent their relationship from becoming anything more than strictly professional. A 'sub' request changes everything. Cate Blanchett x OC. Contains a little smut, maybe fluff, and definitely Hollywood glamor.
